Young Adults

St. Andrew Young Adults invites men and women between the ages of 18 and 35 to participate in the life of the church. Whether you are married, single, a student, or working, you are welcome to be a part of the community. We offer social activities, small groups, and serving opportunities that allow you to engage with new friends and pursue Christ.

Young Adults Activities

Common Grounds | Sundays (weekly)

Grab a cup of coffee and visit with other young adults, at a time conveniently between the 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. Meet new people and learn more about upcoming Young Adults events and activities.

Theology on Tap | First WednesdayS of the month

Pondering what it means to be Christian? Wondering where is God in all of this craziness we call life? Wanting to ask questions but don’t know where to go? Just wanting to meet other cool people at St. Andrew? Join us for a casual monthly night out where we explore questions of faith. Come ready to meet new people and share your own musings, if you wish, about what it means to be Christian today. To submit topics for discussion, email them here.

Occurs on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at various locations.

United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women (UMW) is a community whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

UMW provides an opportunity for women of all ages to learn more about worldwide missions while cultivating friendships in small and large group settings. Each year, UMW helps countless local and international charitable organizations by volunteering, donating needed items, and fundraising.

Annual Events

United Methodist Men

United Methodist Men Ministry (UMM) is a community of Christian men growing together through service, learning and fellowship. Our primary purpose is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in all their relationships. The focal points of UMM are:

  • Fellowship: Meeting and establishing friendships with men who are Christian focused.
  • Learning: Studying the message and the ‘good news” of Christ and how it pertains to our lives.
  • Service: Serving in and outside of St. Andrew through the Messenger of Hope Scholarship, ImagineU Mentor-ship Ministry, and the Strength for Service devotional program. Plus provide support for church events.

Our Missions

Messenger of Hope Scholarship Fund

Our biggest mission, started in 2001 by Ray Adams (Chairman), has raised over $750,000 for high school students in economic need to help them achieve their college goals. The scholarship is mostly funded by the annual Messenger of Hope Golf Tournament held in October.

ImagineU Mentor-ship Ministry

ImagineU identifies high school students that are experiencing unique challenges in their path to higher education, and mentors (UMM volunteers) help students stay in school and on course to a higher education. This mission, chaired by Joe Rule and Micah Mahaney, is spiritually lifting and fulfilling by helping young high school students achieve success.

Strength of Service

This devotional mission supports our military men and women with Christian devotionals signed by our church community with a personal note and then sent to our troops at a military base within Texas. This mission is chaired by Mike Kelley and Gary Brooks. Over 3000 devotionals have been distributed over the past four years.
