Sermon Series: A Bigger Story

11/1 - 11/22/2020

Live into the tension. Any great story requires us to live through tension and anxiety, quickly turning pages and asking what will come next. This year has left us hanging on the edges of our seats as we ask that question of our real lives. As we look toward what tomorrow might bring, God is reminding that we are part of a bigger story. There is hope in the tension; God is calling us to something bigger than ourselves.

11/21 - 11/22/2020 | Jesus in the Garden

What hope do we have knowing that every epic story requires tension? We have hope that Jesus knows anxiety and fear as deeply as any human being can. In our scripture reading today, Jesus shows us the path we should follow, leaning into tension with steadfast faith, for the sake of God’s Bigger Story.

11/14 - 11/15/2020 | Rahab and the Spies

Spies come in the middle of the night on a secret mission, and who do they meet on their journey? Rahab has a choice to make: receive these strangers or raise the alarm. In this week’s scripture we find a brave woman who leads God’s people to a new future.

11/7 - 11/8/2020 | Joshua and Caleb

Two friends are given the task of exploring as the Hebrews search for the home God is calling them to. They return after their mission scared and overwhelmed by what they saw. How will their people react to this cowardly report? What will their leaders do?

10/31 - 11/1/2020 | Joseph and His Brothers

In one of the most dramatic scenes of the Bible, we are left to wonder how Joseph will receive the brothers who betrayed him. Secret identities, family drama, and natural disasters lead to this week’s story of reconciliation.
